Should I Upgrade?
Tankless Vs. Traditional
Tankless Water heaters have twice the life of the traditional tank style water heaters. The typical lifespan of a tankless on-demand water heater is roughly twenty years. That is twice as long as the traditional tank style water heater. The length of life can be even greater if paired with a water filtration/conditioning system. Tankless water heaters also never run out of hot water and meet strict efficiency requirements due to the fact that they are energy star approved.
Saving Energy=Saving Money
While you may spend more upfront having the tankless water heater installed, you will save money in the long run due to the tankless on-demand water heater using less energy. According to Energy.gov, "For homes that use 41 gallons or less of hot water daily, demand water heaters can be 24%–34% more energy-efficient than conventional storage-tank water heaters.”
Less Maintenance & Less Storage Space
Traditional water heaters required more maintenance than its counterpart, the tankless on-demand style water heater, due to the fact that they do not hold water for long periods of time. When hot water is needed, the unit lets water flow over its inductive heaters then passes the water on to the faucet or shower head that is calling for the hot water.
Unlimited Hot Water, On Demand
You never have to worry about using multiple showers or appliances at the same time when you go tankless.
Important Information About Your Tankless Water Installation
When installing a tankless water heater, the smallest portion of the project is actually the plumbing side of the tankless water heater installation. Typically, the old tank style water heater is drained and removed, then the tankless heater is piped in with two plumbing pipes.
What many customers do not consider when choosing to have a tankless water heater installed is the amount of electrical work that may be required to properly power the water heater.
We have heard horror stories from customers who originally hired a plumbing-only company who quoted the installation of a tankless water heater and then surprised the customer later with another bill from an electrical company. That is why it is important to choose a company that has both Electricians and Plumbers on staff. This will ensure that the unit is installed correctly the first time and you never have to worry about a surprise bill from another company.
Here at PowerHouse Home Services, we have on-staff experienced Plumbers and Electricians that can efficiently work together to ensure your tankless water heater is installed correctly the first time!
